Boarding Cattery

Here at Millwood we endeavour to make your cats stay here, enjoyable, happy, comfortable and safe. Every cat is given the very best of care and attention possible, but we are always ready to listen to comments, recommendations or criticisms we like to know as much as possible about your cat/s to enable him/her to settle in here quickly, especially if it is their first visit.

PEN ARRANGEMENTS. Some customers, after visiting the Cattery, like to make a request for a particular pen. We will do our best to make this possible but it cannot be guaranteed at peak holiday times. We must also point out that the holding pen may have to be used for your cat, e.g., on cross over days, if we have a cat come in before the pen is free. All pens have individual heater pads or heater lamps in winter and Radiators at both ends of the Cattery. In Summer A/C and Air Cooling Plants.

INOCULATIONS. All cats must be neutered or spayed. Customers will be required to produce an up to date Vac’ certificate, ideally booster vaccination should be completed 14 days before the first day of boarding. We reserve the right to refuse any cat that hasn’t these criteria.

FOOD. It is important that we know his/her likes and dislikes in their food and in advance if on a special diet. We have found that this causes less stress to feed exactly the food they have been used to. We always keep a large stock of various dried and canned food but arrangements can easily be made.

BEDDING. We provide all bedding but some customers like to bring their own. We believe this is a good idea; it possibly helps, as some thing from home may settle them in more quickly. Don’t forget though, all pens, have in the winter, heater pads, or lamps, so to benefit, please just a small blanket or an old jumper of yours.

MEDICATION. This is not a problem; we will give all types of medication, including diabetic insulin injections. Advance notice of the cat’s requirements is useful, but not essential.

EMERGENCY VET. Used will be Pets4Vets Your own Vet will be advised and kept up to date. We will keep all Vet treatment to a minimum but will ensure the well being of your pet.

COLLECTIONS. Under special circumstances, arrangements could be made for collection and delivery a reasonable fee would be charged.

GROOMING. We will groom a cat if time and the cat allows. But SMARTCAT GROOMING SERVICE can be arranging with prior notice.

MILLWOOD The Boarding Cattery and the Rescue pens and chalets where designed and built by my husband Dave and opened in July 1994.by A. Hickling our local vet. It was designed as a Cattery WE would like our own cats to go to. The Cattery has 10 double and 2 treble pens, a holding as well as an isolation pen which all licensed catteries must have. We can give far more individual attention to all the cats in our care, compared to the larger catteries. Millwood is central heated & has air-cooling units. Open all year. Inspection is invited.

To book, see details below. We look forward to seeing you soon. Dave & Ronnie McMillen.
